RED HEADS

I started the Redheads by using the inside void of an old 78 rpm sleeve cover as a stencil and printing it with block printing ink. I collaged spheres cut from digital prints of my paintings on top of the disks.
I like working with fragments of my paintings as a way of connecting what I have done with what I'm doing now. It presents me with the possibility of unpacking my forms and layering their context. I feel that as one event triggers other events an overlapping conversation develops. When context, material, and scale are in flux they break down the boundaries between figurative and abstract.
I see space as clustering particles in a continual cycle of building form and then that form dissolving. Repeating with possibilities. Geometry and vibration of color connect and stabilize a moment of a particular image.
